Olá Brasil!
The week before the holidays was nothing but amazing for the team here at Polar Rose. News of our upcoming launch seemed to propagate across the net and the feedback we’ve been getting since has been smart and valuable.
Of particular notice, news and interest of Polar Rose has seemed to pick up in Brazil, with Rio and São Paulo being the two red-hot cities worldwide. (Have a look at the map below, taken from Google Analytics)
This should probably have come as little of a surprise, considering the popularity Fotolog down hinder. I remember when Fotolog had to cap the signups from any single country to 1.000 per day and were sold out in Brazil a few minutes past midnight every day.

Olá Brasil and the rest of you!

Given the short attention span of most internet users, the long time span since the Polar Rose people announced their product to the world and an unknown release date will cost them a lot of publicity. They need to be more active with announcements.

[...] O Brasil parece que já descobriu a novidade. E, como aconteceu com o Orkut, já é um dos maiores entusiastas do Polar Rose. Vamos ver se o Polar Rose está mais para Altavista ou para o Google. [...]

Hejsa!
Sorry for my countrypeople’s comments in Portuguese, but that happened because YOU started! :-) The idea behind Polar Rose is great and we’re eager to see it in action (if it already is, then please let us know how!). And I’ve been to Mälmo! But didn’t go to far from the ferry because I was afraid I’d get lost (first international trip, hehehe).
Pessoal, favor comentar em inglês! Não é por que o título do post veio em português que os caras sabem falar o idioma, né?

Wow! Great news for us in Brazil… I’m from Rio and waiting for the software.
Only one comentary off-topic: the groeland is much bigger in the map…. Look better… almost the same size of the whole Africa!

Alexandre said: “the groeland (Greenland) is much bigger in the map…. ”
This is because this map (likely) uses the Mercator Projection… see an explanation of the distinct map projections in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Map_projection

Mecholsky, this kind of program is possible to exists! It will use techniques of Machine Learning, and I bet that it will really works! I’ve seen once one work here at Federal University of Minas Gerais that deals with face recognition.
And people from Polar Rose, if you guys need some brazilian programmer to work with you I want to be that guy! I am almost finishing my Master Degree in Machine Learning. =)
This project sounds pretty interesting! I am waiting for the first release!

Acredito, juro !! :)
