Happy New Year everybody!
This is a pretty good example of Polar Rose in action on a news site. Notice the doll in the top banner being Polar Rosed.

A mashup of Bluetooth technology and social network data mining is inevitable. The idea is that you’ll be able to turn on your MySpace, Facebook, or LinkedIn profile via your cell phone, and the phone will ring when you pass a stranger who also has their cell phone profile on – where there is a triggered social connection of some sort, for instance a mutual acquaintance, or shared interest (dating, career, friendship, etc.). Regardless of which company develops this technology first, the addition of facial recognition via cell phone upload would certainly be valuable as far as social network analytics goes.

That’s sounds like a truly awful development. I always have my bluetooth off. I am totally against such ideas, since one step beyond & we’ll easily find ourselves in Matrix-style thing, everybody-wired and cross-wired. Technology is fantastic once it does not aim to sneak into all corners of life & actually replace it. Not a chance I’ll ever let “any” mobiles “sniff” around mine & send me any kind of messages. Do not you think that sometimes people do not want to be “recognized” by co-wokers or any strangers?
