Import of photos from Flickr delayed

Update April 8, 23:33 CET: Flickr is not throttling our access to their APIs and we are investigating how network connectivity between our data center in Europe, our image processing servers at Amazon, and Flickr’s servers in California is affecting performance.

Just a quick note to let you know that we are experiencing a delay in import of photos from Flickr. We currently have a backlog of requests as our access to the Flickr APIs is throttled. We are of course talking to Flickr about increasing the threshold so we can get at your photos quicker.

Since there have been several questions about why only some of your photos are appearing, we might as well mention that we import approximately 500 of your photos at a time. We take the most recent photos first so these are the first that will appear in your photo stream, and then crunch through 500 more.
